The Jacksonville Trinity Christian Conquerors are the top small school football program in the state of Florida. They are seeking their third straight Class 3A state title and it would also be their sixth championship in the last 15 years.
Trinity Christian brings a powerful ground attack into the game and are led by a trio of RBs who average at least 9.7 yards per carry! Junior RB Rasheed Martin leads the team in rushing with 846 yards rushing on just 79 carries and 15 tds. Senior Jalin Buie has 67 carries for 683 yards and 8 tds. Junior DeQuantae Showers has 667 yards rushing on 69 caries and 11 tds.
When the Conquerors throw the ball, senior QB Billy Cobb leads the way. Cobb has thrown for 2,315 yards, 27tds, and has completed 63% of his passes. His top targets are senior WR Damien McGhee(23 rec 567 yds 8tds) and junior WR D.J. Matthews(31 rec 506 yds 6tds). Trinity Christian averages 45.3 points per game on offense and defensively, they are led by seniors Anthony Mitchell(15 sacks) and Dominique Ross(11.5 sacks).
Trinity Christian has a familiar opponent in the Delray Beach American Heritage Stallions, the two teams met in Class 3A state final last year, with Trinity Christian winning 27-7 and taking home the Class 3A state title.
The Delray Beach American Heritage Stallions are no stranger to championship level football, this is their sixth appearance in a state championship game in the last nine years, and they have won three championship during that span.
The Stallions have a potent one-two punch in their offensive backfield led by senior RB Devon Singletary. Singletary has rushed for 1,737 yards on 175 carries and scored 16 tds. Senior RB Cornelius Smith has 950 yards rushing and 6tds.
On defense, American Heritage is led by senior LBs Logan Wakefield(127 tackles 17tfl) and Lawrence Graham(130 tackles 21tfl). Big junior DL Lamonte McDougle is 6-1 285 pounds and he chipped in 87 tackles and 26tfl.
