ORMOND BEACH -- Orange City University used a strong running game and a dominating defensive effort to defeat Seabreeze 34-7 in a preseason Kickoff Classic match up that lasted for three quarters. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Pine Ridge Senior High on Thursday August 16th, but weather and field conditions led to the game being rescheduled for Saturday evening at The Ormond Beach Sports Complex.

University senior quarterback Ethan Lasher led the charge for Titans, scoring on touchdown runs of 5 and 8 yards. Lasher also tossed a 60 yard touchdown pass to Demari Taylor. Kyle Metiam scored University's first points on a short touchdown run and the last score came on a 18 yard touchdown run by Ruben Joseph.

Seabreeze was never able to get on track offensively and their only score came at the 7:06 mark in the third quarter when backup quarterback JJ Halcomb connected with Terence Robinson for a 69 yard touchdown pass.

University will play their regular season opener on the road at Deltona on Friday 8/23 and Seabreeze will also open the season on the road at Spruce Creek on the same evening.
