The final College Football Poll for the 2017 collegiate season has been released by the Associated Press (AP).

College Football Playoff (CFP) champion Alabama Crimson Tide sits atop the final poll with the UCF Knights ranked at #6, the highest ranking of any collegiate FBS team in the state of Florida. Both Bama and UCF received first place votes.

FLORIDA TEAMS IN TOP 25
Three teams from the Sunshine State were ranked in the final AP COLLEGE FOOTBALL POLL.

#6 Ranked Central Florida rightfully believes that they are National Champions, supported by the fact they finished as the ONLY UNDEFEEATED FBS TEAM and they beat a team (Auburn) that beat both contenders #1 Alabama and #2 Georgia in the National Championship Game.

The Miami Hurricanes finished ranked at #13. Canes lost their last three games after being ranked #1 when they were surprisingly defeated by fellow ACC opponent Pittsburgh. Although they stumbled in the long path with some shaky quarterback play, The U is BACK, and with Canes HC Mark Richt continuing to lure talent rich homegrown recruiting classes, the Canes should be back into the Top 10 in no time!

South Florida, guided by four-year starter and Bulls legend QB Quinton "Winky" Flowers (Miami Jackson High School Generals) at QB, finished ranked #21. Coach Charlie Strong will have to reboot at quarterback, but the Bulls will continue to flourish.

Florida Atlantic, who had a great year under new Head Coach Lane Kiffin, received votes, ultimately placing at the number 30 spot.

Notably, Florida State Seminoles or the Florida Gators, perennial powerhouses in the Sunshine State, finished their seasons not being ranked and not receiving any votes in the final college poll. With both colleges hiring new head football coaches, expect the Noles and Gators to be highly competitive in the upcoming season.... With Sunshine State stocked rosters and a refresh of committed coaches, expect both of these stalwarts to finish in the Top 25, if not the Top 10!
