The Miami Central duo of Joseph Yearby and Dalvin Cook a few years back were the best high school backfield in the land. Years later on the collegiate level, the duo, in different schools, have showcased their skills and eclipsed 1000 yards.
Yearby and Cook's success on the gridiron brings back in the question of the where the two were the best high school backfield in the state of Florida EVER.... or some will say the Miami Southridge team in the early 90's which comprised of Darren Davis, Sedrick Irvin.
Darren Davis was the first back in Miami-Dade's storied history to rush for more than 2000 yards in a season, ending with a record that still stands today of 2253 yards. Sure other backs have done it throughout the state (2015 Mr. Florida Football DeShawn Smith had an eye-whopping), but to do it in Dade, is another standard.
Joseph Yearby also eclipsed the 2000 mark as a SOPHOMORE at Miami Central, getting the spotlight after future Pro-Bowler Devonta Freeman went to play for Florida State.
Dalvin Cook has emerged as the one, if not the best, running back in the nation. The Seminoles star is explosive, evidenced by his touchdowns of 40+, the most in the nation.
