"The Bulls are Back!"
“The Bulls are Back” exclaimed an exuberant Miami Northwestern head coach Max Edwards, throwing up the classic Bulls hand signal. “The Bulls are Back!!!” The Miami Northwestern Bulls had just defeated a tough undefeated Seffner Armwood for the Class 6A State Championship.
And the journey they encountered was a perilous road, filled with great battles between powerhouses and playoff contenders.
The Bulls fought, they grew, and when it mattered most, the Bulls adjusted sloppy early gameplay to reach the pinnacle, being crowned the best team in Florida’s 6A classification.
The Bulls were battled tested, their season lined with 8 opponents with ___ wins or more, 7 attending the playoffs . Exiting district play as the 6A-16 champ was in itself a daunting task, with 4 of the 5 teams in Miami’s district 6A-16, the nation’s toughest, were in the playoff picture under Florida’s new playoff point system.
Seffner
Chatarius “Tutu” Atwell proved he was who they thought he was. The quarterback, who has started since a freshman at the West, played key in the big game.
Broke free for a 51 yard TD down the right sideline to gain the edge in the second half.

Tutu on the next drive hit a wide open in the right seam for a throw and catch. The Bulls again missed their XP, resulting in a 21-9 lead in the ___ Qtr.
Tenacious defense from Miami Northwestern proved to be the difference. The Bulls defensive line stifled Armwood QB Devin Black…. Rushing passes, and amassing 5 sacks on the day. And the Hawks also contributed to their own demise. Several dropped passes from Hawks receivers on key drives provide crucial, and when the Hawks needed to respond, they remained dormant vs. the battle tested undenied Bulls.
Miami Northwestern last won a state title in 2007, a back-to-back championship under the guidance of Bulls' legend QB Jacory Harris. Current NFL QB, Minnesota Vikings' Teddy Bridgewater led the Bulls back to the state title, but was denied victory at the hands of Sanford Seminoles' Andre Debose heroic play.
